Dalam jendela Norton pilih "Run Live Update" untuk melakukan update (Online)..

Untuk update pertama kali update akan memakan waktu yang relatif lama, sekitar >45MB yakni untuk mengupdate definisi virus dari pertengahan 2009 (waktu rilisnya norton versi ini), sampai dengan sekarang.
Untuk update ke dua, juga akan memakan waktu yang relatif lama juga, sekitar >15MB yakni untuk mengupdate Core AntiVirus-nya sendiri menjadi versi terbaru 17.5.X.XXX. (setelah menjadi versi 17.5 / versi terbaru, lakukan langkah 6 dan 9 lagi).
Untuk update selanjutnya sangat ringan dan cepat.
